I wrote this dialogue a few years ago for my book Deadline, but it was nonessential, so I removed it, and it's never been published until now. I hope some readers will find the interaction between these two men stimulating and useful.

What, after all, is more universal to human experience than suffering? And what is more important than the perspective we bring to it?

Many religions, including Buddhism and Hinduism, picture the afterlife as vague and intangible. Christianity specifically refutes this notion. Biblical Christianity doesn’t give up on humanity or the earth.

When people ask, and they often do, I always describe myself as Reformed in theology.

In my opinion, the Bible plainly teaches that God recently created everything in six literal days.

I have hesitations, but I’m not sure they’re valid.

Matthew 25 teaches us we are to help those truly in need.
