Just finished The Chasm. What an imagination! — A.A.

This imaginative, allegorical journey, by my favorite author, portrays man's lifelong journey. Mike Biegel's twelve black and white allegorical drawings combine with compelling narrative to illustrate a modern day Pilgrim's Progress. Nick's character is drawn from the fiction pages of Alcorn's 1999 novel, Edge of Eternity. I read the book in one sitting, could not put it down and plan to savor it many more times. Alcorn's written a classic that will stand the test of time.— G.W.

Nick's story could very well be anyone's. It's a story of seeking, misunderstanding, and finding. A story of the cost of life, and the value of it as well. This is a good little book for anyone who likes allegory. I'll probably pass my copy around to several folks, including my older daughter, who I think will grasp both the literal and allegorical parts of the story. — D.H.

If you want to read about love, true love, look no further. No book better shows the love of Jesus in a physical, understandable way. I love that Nick goes through life with a mask over his eyes - not really understanding what he is experiencing, but moving forward all the same. Even after his up-close-and-personal experience with Jesus, he does not full grasp what has just happened. Discover God and Jesus in a personal way in this wonderfully put together adventure. —T.

Have you ever had a book grab your attention and impact your thoughts....after you are forced to put it down for a few minutes. This book, The Chasm, A Journey to the Edge of Life.....is a book that did just that to me.
     This story is amazing. Randy Alcorn beautifully writes a story of a man, his sin, Spiritual warfare....and the invitation, the choice we all have. It is a quick read, a heart-impacting book that you should truly consider reading and adding to your own collection.  —R.B.

If you're looking for a quick read that you can finish in an hour to two hours and still get as much from it as possible, The Chasm is for you. Randy Alcorn paints a vivid allegory to various aspects of the Christian faith while still staying focused on one plotline of the story. Many will compare this book to Pilgrim's Progress. I would agree, except I got much more from this then I ever got from Pilgrim's Progress.
     The book itself doesn't really give you any base to go from starting out, but it really isn't necessary. There's plenty of references to the real world, while it never really goes into the real world. Everyone should read it through and through! —S.R.

     Alcorn takes the reader on a dream-like journey through the main character's life and shows him and the reader the "Roman's Road" in a whole new way. I found myself thinking about the symbolism and the story for days after reading the book - I wanted the story to continue. The allegories and analogies never fall apart. They are expertly weaved into the story from the red road, to the hammer and nails, to the gray landscape... you've got to pick up this book! —L.S. 

This is my first read through one of Randy's "fiction" books. Actually, I consider the book a different genre that I call "factional". The book is fiction but the point is fact. So true about this book.
     This is a great story. I don't often read fiction books. In fact, I can't remember the last fiction book I read. I really did enjoy it. It is very much in the vain of C.S. Lewis' fiction work The Screwtape Letters and the like. And though it was obvious the book was written in a similar fashion of these other books it didn't matter because you are pulled into the story so well.
     This book should be the new "tract" fad. You want to shine some light on the Gospel for someone who hates God and church and church people? Buy the Chasm and give it to them. By the time the figure out what it is about, they may have learned some things about themselves. —C.M.
