Randy Alcorn spoke at Hope Chapel in Kihei, Hawaii on the subject of happiness. He spoke on the Biblical definition of happiness, happiness in Scripture, how depression and happiness relate, God's happiness and that through Christ we can be happy. In this clip, Randy talks about how God has hardwired us for happiness. 

Reading this story and seeing this art reminded me of what it means to be created in God’s image. 

So in Genesis 1, the idea is clearly that man somehow represents something of or about God, including His presence in the world and His authority. Since we know from other passages that it is not that God has arms, hands, or other bodily parts, the resemblance must be less concrete and more “essential.” None of the other creations of God (whether animal or angel) are in God’s image. We resemble His attributes as much as the material can emulate the perfect Immaterial.

Let me summarize the secular/atheist and Christian foundations for the value of life, then you tell me whether it's any wonder that many people today are feeling like they, their lives, and the lives of others have so little meaning or worth.
