Randy shares a prayer of a powerful passage of Scripture that pertains to the election and the future of our country.

In this clip from Randy’s message “An Eternal Perspective on Suffering, Loss, and Grief,” Randy and Steve Keels discuss how it is OK to ask God our why questions, as long as we are willing to listen to His answers.

Please remember that it takes time to reach that place of perspective. Be patient with yourself during this process. It can take three or more years just to get past the fog and confusion of a major loss.

Certainly God sometimes graciously answers our prayers to relieve our suffering. This too testifies to His greatness, and we should praise Him for answering. But when He answers no, we should recognize that He desires to demonstrate His greater glory. May we then bend our knees and trust His sovereign grace.

I love The Valley of Vision, which is a collection of brief and profound Puritan prayers compiled by Arthur Bennett. I find these prayers uniquely powerful and penetrating. So did Nanci, and she often read them in her last few years of going deep in the things of God before Jesus took her home. 

This article by Marshall Segal, with reflections on the prayer “Come, Lord Jesus” is wonderful. How grateful we are for God’s promise of resurrected bodies and renewed minds, with which we will be better able to glorify and enjoy Him forever.
