I’m excited to introduce my book Pro-Choice or Pro-Life: Examining 15 Pro-Choice Claims—What Do Facts & Common Sense Tell Us? It tackles the predominant pro-choice claims head-on but does so in a thoughtful and non-aggressive way in order to reach pro-life and at least some pro-choice readers. This book is carefully written and edited, and I believe is a high-quality pro-life resource.

Sadly, this argument is used to say, “You have no right to say anything about unborn children.” That’s simply not true. 

I believe God has raised Ben Watson up to be a spokesman for two causes very close to the heart of God that are also two of the most controversial and important issues in American life: pro-life justice and racial justice. His strong and heartfelt pro-life commitment has driven him and his wife Kirsten to make a powerful new film called “Divided Hearts of America.”

We don’t believe it’s permissible or right to eliminate people to prevent their possible future suffering. That is a false empathy.

You bring up a lot of Scriptures and each one deserves a thoughtful response. I will do my best to do so. That said, the Bible is a book, and like any other book, its sentences need to be read in context to understand what the author is communicating. I believe that is the main issue with the verses you cited. 

In 2020, Randy Alcorn was interviewed for the Steps for Life webcast. In this video, he talks on the topic of the sanctity of human life.

LifeNews has a list of the U.S. states that have shut down abortion clinics right now, and the states that are still allowing them to operate. The list doesn’t include the status of my home state of Oregon, but one clinic in Portland says on their website, “[We believe] it is our responsibility to stay open so that we may continue to provide safe and legal abortions.” 

Dr. Jefferson’s voice is timeless, and she needs to be heard today more than ever. Her message is pro–child, pro–woman, pro-African-American, and just plain pro-human. I wept at the eloquence and above all the truth and power of her words. Just listen and I think you’ll see why.

I have met abortion survivors who have told me their stories, just as I have met people conceived in horrific acts of rape and incest. In each case these are precious people, made in the image of God, with the same value in His sight, and the same right to live as the rest of us.
