Edith Schaeffer was a Christ-loving, creative, caring, and classy woman. She entered the presence of Jesus this past weekend, at age 98.

My father died on August 28, 2012. He would have been 91 on September 3. 

Five days ago a friend and author, poet, artist, speaker and professor Calvin Miller exited this world and entered a better one.

Last Saturday afternoon, Chuck Colson went home to be with the Lord. After founding Prison Fellowship in 1976, Chuck ministered in more than 800 prisons, in 40 countries around the world, over the next 35 years. 

Missionary Bert Elliot (brother of martyred missionary Jim Elliot) went home to be with Jesus last Friday. Nanci and I met Bert and his wife Colleen in January 2006, which marked the fiftieth anniversary of the martyrdom of the five missionaries in Ecuador.

Stephen Bly, a true cowboy, a gentleman, and an award-winning writer of westerns, went Home to his Lord Jesus at age 66 on Thursday, June 9, after a five year battle with cancer.

December 7, this Sunday, is the 40th anniversary of the day Nanci and I met. We were freshmen in high school. It was a double date in which we went to see two new movies at Portland's Village Theatre on 122nd.
