A publisher asked me last week what my distinctive mission as a writer is. I think it's to probe beneath the surface into the deep longings of people, then to open a door into the invisible spiritual realm so people can see ultimate realities (including God, angels, demons, heaven and hell) with the eyes of faith and imagination.

In my book In Light of Eternity I tell several stories related to my mom’s death, the death of my closest friend, and my father’s death...and mind just sort of moved over to this arena of what really does happen on the other side of death.

I visited China in the Fall of 1999 while doing background research for Safely Home.

As Nanci, Karina & Angela and I, and my brother Lance, were with him, while I was reading Scripture from Revelation 20-22, Dad went home to be with the Lord.

The following is the text of closing arguments I prepared at the request of attorney William Bailey, in February of 1993.

Even in this world I’m optimistic about the opportunity to impact and influence all kinds of people. I’ve seen joy and peace in the lives of many women who’ve had an experience of forgiveness after their abortions and many women who, as a result of intervention, spared the lives of their children. 

Lewis’s mentorship and impact on my own life, and indirectly on my ministry has been profound, and I’m grateful to God for him.
