In The Knowledge of the Holy, a book that profoundly impacted me when I came to Christ as a teenager, Tozer speaks of the attributes of God, including those we’re tempted to minimize. Whether we affirm the holiness and justice of God—and the doctrine of Hell, which is inseparable from them—may be the biggest test of whether the Bible or our culture is our true authority.

Question from a reader: Can a Christian be demon possessed? I have a friend who is convinced that demons are hanging out in her house and taunting her. She seems drawn to the mystical and occult much more than to Christ. I want to show her that, if she's truly in Christ (which she may not be), that she has nothing to fear. B. T.

Psalm 1 says the one who continually meditates on God’s Word “is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither.” Trees don’t choose where to place themselves, but we do.

I’m simply pointing out what the secular-slogan and the biblical verse have in common—the recognition that there are consequences for every choice, whether good or bad.

God has his people everywhere. Many vocations are more important than football. But regardless of what it is, when God gives His people a platform to stand on, and a voice that can be heard, He expects them to represent Him faithfully.

Question from a reader: Does recorded voice and music praise God? If I were to record my own voice reading God's word and play it back in a person-less room, would that still praise God?
