Recently I’ve been going back over hundreds of pages of notes and quotations that I compiled over years of research, but have never used in any of my books on Heaven. I came across this one from Spiros Zodhiates, taking from his book Life After Death.

In Scripture, God is said to enjoy, love, laugh, take delight, and rejoice, as well as be angry, happy, jealous, and glad. 

In this minute and a half video, Randy Alcorn talks about how God is a lavish giver. We can enjoy the people and things God has made, and in the process enjoy the God who designed and provided them for his pleasure and ours.

George MacDonald was a good thinker in some arenas, but he was a universalist, and not solidly biblical. However, C.S. Lewis said George's books baptized his imagination. Lewis's baptized mine.

This is my third and possibly last blog on this subject. But given its importance to the gospel of Christ and the health of Christ’s body, I make no promises.

I mentioned in an earlier post Rob Bell’s book Love Wins. I read it several weeks ago. It contains some good and accurate things here and there, but unfortunately its central message is in explicit contradiction to Scripture and historic Christianity.

When we seek our own glory, it means we are proud and arrogant. But does God seek his own glory? And if He does, wouldn’t that make him a megalomaniac? 

No, I’ve not written anything on this passage, but I vividly remember reading it for the first time as a young Christian in high school!

I think we will celebrate the birth of Christ in Heaven for all eternity. How could we not celebrate His incarnation? Certainly we will celebrate—though celebrate doesn't seem quite the right word—the triumph of the resurrection of Christ.
