Randy Alcorn spoke with Alan Hlavka at Good Shepherd Community Church at the Hearts, Habits & Happiness Conference in 2014. In this video Randy talks about how it's smart to live in light of eternity. 

Randy Alcorn spoke on how to find joy in giving, addressing the dangers of the "Health and Wealth Gospel," and encouragimg Christians to experience joy in giving.  He incorporated verses from Luke and 2 Corinthians. This was filmed at Good Shepherd Community Church during the Hearts Habits and Happiness conference in 2014.  

Last weekend I attended the three sessions of Randy’s Q & A on the joy of giving at Good Shepherd Community Church.

Someone has said, “Live simply that others may simply live.” Of course, there is no automatic relationship between my simple living and someone else being rescued from starvation or reached with the gospel.

Jesus does not say, “Store up for God treasures in heaven”; he said, “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:20, NIV).   

This is a very hard question that many in and out of church leadership ask. Although there is no explicit biblical position, I believe it is implicit because of at least two New Testament passages. 

The Bible gives us no direct instruction regarding modern vacations so believers are left to exercise godly wisdom and discernment to act in ways aligned with Scripture.

To turn the tide of materialism in the Christian community, we desperately need bold models of kingdom-centered living.
