January 24 marked the March for Life in Washington D.C., which is held on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. This story shared at the march by Josiah Presley, an abortion survivor, is powerful.

Prolifers have long opposed using the IUD, because it does not prevent conception, but keeps the already-conceived child from implanting in his mother’s womb.

Pro-life men are told by some pro-choice advocates, “No uterus, no opinion” and “No womb, no say.” But abortion is a human issue, not a gender issue. 

I love Pastor Heath Lambert, and I also love his love for his family. This had to be a hard sermon for him to give, but what good words to say about his daughter and the father of her child! This response is full of grace and truth, and made my heart sing.

Long before it was ever a divisive political issue in our country, abortion was a moral issue, and one which God has a clear and emphatic position on. I encourage you to consider what God’s Word says about unborn children, and what the people of God throughout history have said about abortion.

Ruth Wood, reader of our magazine Eternal Perspectives, shared this wonderful follow-up to an article we included in the latest issue about God’s Heart for the Elderly and Infirm. What she wrote is remarkable and powerful, demonstrating a miracle of grace that took place in her dad’s life.

One of the many problems facing Western society is that we worship youth and make the elderly disposable. God’s perspective on the elderly is vastly different. 

It sounds like you have followed Randy's advice of informing the couples you’ve counseled. As for follow up, our further advice would be that this not be a matter of church discipline.

EPM does believe it is possible to agree in principle with people of other faiths on this issue of the sanctity of human life, without endorsing the theology of those other faiths. 

The hard cases are also sometimes called the exceptional cases. But the fundamental question remains, “Is there any exception to the fact that a preborn child is a human being?” The point is not how a child was conceived but that he was conceived.

Over the years I’ve frequently been told that life issues are not what the church of Jesus Christ is to be about. A seminary student at my church once told me something I’ve often heard in one form or another: “Issues like abor­tion are just a distraction from the main thing.”

When Portland’s pregnancy resource center started over 30 years ago, there were only 12-15 PRCs in the whole country. Now there are over 2,000! It is amazing how far the movement has come. However, since the leak of the Dobbs opinion last year, and the subsequent overturning of Roe v. Wade, these centers across the U.S. have faced increased hostility.
