Today’s blog is about a nonprofit that’s making a big difference in the lives of kids with medical needs, and also in the lives of youth in local schools.  I think you’ll be touched by reading about their work and seeing the pictures of a child who has been helped. 

Kathy Norquist, who served with our ministry for over two decades, retired from Eternal Perspective Ministries this past September. Many of you who have been touched by EPM over the years have come to know and appreciate Kathy.

Over twenty-five years ago, on nine occasions I participated in peaceful, nonviolent civil disobedience, briefly going to jail (my longest incarceration was only two days) for what was an extremely unpopular cause—speaking up for unborn children. Even my brief time there gave me a much greater heart for prison ministries like Prison Fellowship. 

Our dear friend and staff member, Karen Coleman, went into the presence of Jesus on June 10, 2018. Here is her memorial service on Sunday, July 1 at her church, Good Shepherd Community Church. A few years ago Nanci and I met Earl Smith, former death row chaplain at San Quentin. At a conference with professional football players, Earl told me, and at the time I didn’t know this, that our ministry has sent San Quentin lots of books.

How many thousands, perhaps millions, of people around the world have been impacted by EPM’s ministry? In the vast majority of cases, we’re not in the position to know what God has done in people’s lives and how their stories end. But one day, we’ll find out.

In 2017, Randy Alcorn shared his story of how his ministry, Eternal Perspective Ministries, began and God's sovereignty throughout all of it. This was filmed by Humble Beast.

Ten years ago today, EPM shared my first blog post, “There is a God,” which featured Bryant Young, then defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. We’ve since shared over 1,300 posts on a wide range of topics, including Heaven, suffering, giving, prolife issues, happiness, current events, and much more.

I’ve been asked over the years, “Why don’t you fund Eternal Perspective Ministries through the book royalties, and not receive donations?” It’s a reasonable question, and there are two main answers.
