Over the last two weekends (and trailing into the wee hours of this morning!), Jenni and I listened to three more outstanding audio books by Randy Alcorn: Deadline, Dominion, and Deception. They’re like modern Sherlock Holmes novels that deal in an edifying way with issues like abortion, racism, and faith and challenge readers to live in light of eternity.

Randy Alcorn’s Wait Until Then is both touching and wise. Any parent who wants to explain what happens to us when we die, how to deal with the death of a loved one, and how to cope with serious disappointment will want to read this book with their child.

Randy Alcorn, author and pastor, wrote Tell Me About Heaven for children. The juvenile fiction story helps children visualize and understand what heaven might be like. The story begins with conversations between ten-year-old Jake and his Grandpa, known as “Papa” after Jake’s beloved Grammy dies.

In true “Alcorn fashion,” Randy gently, but effectively, teaches through his writings about God’s goodness.

Although intended for children, I sent Heaven for Kids to a dear friend in North Carolina who bought copies for her entire church after she finished reading the book. She was so impressed with the extraordinary clarity of the author’s message.
