God gives each of us a race to run. To finish well we must develop perseverance. The Christian life is not a hundred-meter dash but a marathon, requiring patience, endurance, and discipline. But how do we find the strength to finish our race well? 

If you haven’t yet checked out John Piper’s amazing LABS (Look at the Book), I encourage you to do so. Here are two that I watched in the past few days and think are terrific.

In his book Navigating Life With More Than Enough, Todd DeKruyter talks about how parents need to let their children experience failure and avoid constantly rescuing them from life’s dilemmas and difficulties.

In other words, that a saved person can become unsaved if they fail to “conquer,” that is, to live a victorious Christian life?

Question from a Reader: Why do some churches avoid showing pictures of aborted babies, and how could it be done respectfully?

I was touched by a video of Charlotte Fien, a British young woman who eloquently challenged a UN “expert” on human rights who advocates for aborting Down syndrome babies.

What Shauna Hernandez, a beloved member of our EPM team, has to share here is wise, insightful, and transparent. I think it’s helpful not only for newlyweds, but also those who’ve been married for many years.

Nanci and I saw The Quiet Place, which I don’t recommend unless you like 90 minutes of tension and dread. But if you can put up with the terror, there are some strong family values in this movie. One in particular, an emphatic prolife message, is celebrated in this article by Greg Morse.

We know that on the New Earth, sin will be done away with and will be no more.

The key is this: when the animal is suffering and you can sense they no longer are hanging on to life, you don’t want to let it go any longer.
