I finished Help for Women Under Stress in 3 sittings/readings. It was encouraging, affirming, and challenging. Your book deals with wisdom issues related to life schedules in such a gentle way. It allows the Holy Spirit to do the work but gives very practical information to immediately try. As it doesn't go into depth on any one issue, it gives a good taste of what to get into and enough to really give things a try! I will recommend it to anyone and everyone I can. —A.G.

Depression has been called the “common cold of psychological disorders.” Negative thoughts preoccupy and dominate the depressed person’s mind. Sometimes depression is linked to certain events or circumstances, sometimes not. It often produces withdrawal and fatigue, and can become so debilitating that a person ceases to function normally. That in itself leads to further depression.

In 1970, when I was sixteen and a new Christian, friends invited me to an evening class on the Gospel of John taught by John G. Mitchell, one of Multnomah School of the Bible’s founders. I became hooked on Bible study and knew my future was at Multnomah.

Sometimes Christians get sidetracked from their central mission as God's stewards through illegitimate or secondary financial concerns. In my opinion, one example is the tax protest movement.

Scripture makes it clear that God is the ultimate source of happiness. Our problem is when we start seeking happiness in things that are secondary instead of primary.
