Tim Challies, whose son went to be with Jesus last year, wrote an article about Helpful Things You Can Say to Grieving Parents. His advice applies to anyone wanting to know what to say to someone who is grieving or going through deep suffering.

Dr. Geoffrey Moses, serving with his family in a country in West Africa, is a medical missionary who has received loan help through MedSend. They recently sent this short and deeply touching video featuring him. Dr. Moses details what happened when he met a woman in a remote village in Western Africa who had metastatic breast cancer that had gone undiagnosed and untreated.

Seeing this brings me back to gazing into the sky night after night as a boy. And how God used it, and my study of the wonders of the universe, to prepare my heart to meet Him.

Prison Fellowship recently shared this great video from one of their outreach events, where they partnered with Riding High Ministries to present the hope of Christ through the experience of breaking a wild horse.

Behind every ministry there are countless faithful givers who say no to certain earthly treasures in order to say yes to reaching the physically and spiritually needy all over the world.

This analogy from Trevin Wax is absolutely wonderful. May we be like the second dog in his parable, longing to be in our Master’s presence.

We can’t say “He just doesn’t get it or care,” because God’s love comes to us soaked in divine blood. He has firsthand experience in life under the Curse. Christ’s suffering on the cross atoned for our sins, but His suffering, tests, and temptations allowed Him to understand, empathize and help us.

Randy shares some thoughts this Christmas season about what Christ has done for us. "Whenever we are tempted in our suffering, to say 'God, why did you do this to me?', let's look at the cross and say 'Lord, why did you do that for me?'. Your grace is so great." -Randy Alcorn

I think we will celebrate the birth of Christ in Heaven for all eternity. How could we not celebrate His incarnation? Certainly we will celebrate—though celebrate doesn’t seem quite the right word—the triumph of the resurrection of Christ. 

“Charles Spurgeon loved Christmas. In fact, he once said, 'I like Christmas; I wish it came six times a year.' He liked the generosity of 'those who give to the poor,' and as for the cheer of the season exclaimed 'I would not stop a smile. God forbid me!'”

For many years I’ve observed Christians saying, “This is an utterly unique time in history” (always true, but sometimes, so what?), and “There have never been more signs of the Antichrist coming.” 

Last week I watched a video of a young woman, Shelby Houston, speaking at her father’s memorial service. Her dad, Officer Richard Houston, was shot and killed on December 3 in Mesquite, Texas while responding to a domestic disturbance. This clip from her message is so wonderful, so beautiful, it took my breath away. 

The death of Jesus may not be frequently talked about at Christmastime, but may we never forget that the miracle of the cross was made possible by the miracle of the incarnation. 

At the current rate, 42% of the world’s Christians will live in Africa by 2060. A discipleship crisis is growing, and there is a desperate need for affordable, biblical resources written by Africans.
