Christ proclaims from his throne on the New Earth: “Behold, I am making all things new” (Revelation 21:5, ESV). It’s not just people who will be renewed but also the earth and “all things” in it. Do “all things” include animals? Yes. Horses, cats, dogs, deer, dolphins, and squirrels—as well as the inanimate creation—will be beneficiaries of Christ’s death and resurrection.

In an age when people try to make doctrines more appealing by ignoring or twisting biblical truth, here’s the irony — the true biblical doctrine of Heaven is far more attractive than the dull, inhuman view of the afterlife that has long prevailed in evangelicalism.

Today's blog is a combination of answers to questions I’ve received lately on my Facebook page or through emails. Because I can't possibly respond to every question that comes in, our great EPM staff help me out with their responses to many of them. (I wish I could reply to more of the questions and letters I receive. Maybe on the New Earth!)

In 2021, Randy Alcorn spoke at Good Shepherd Community Church on the topic of the sanctity of human life.

I was honored to be interviewed by Ben for his documentary. He asked lots of great questions, and we talked about how prolifers can make a difference, what the terms prochoice and prolife mean, and the role of men in abortion.

One of the greatest dangers we are facing, from children to the elderly, is the loss of hope. Nothing robs us of happiness faster than hopelessness, and nothing encourages it more than hope. The day or even the season of life can be dark, but hope still shines a light.

God says, “The tongue has the power of life and death” (Proverbs 18:21). Take a look through your Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter feed, and you’ll see that we as God’s people need discipleship to develop more godly technology habits. That’s why I so appreciated an episode of Ask Pastor John titled, “Before You Tweet Criticism: Six Considerations.”

Every sad tale of immorality among Christian leaders over the last several years has been a shot fired across the bow. But from my viewpoint, almost nothing has changed. We don’t talk about it—or we say how horrible it is each time a leader falls and then move on, not bothering to change anything. God calls us to something far better.

I met with a man who had been a prominent ministry leader until he committed immorality. I asked, “What could have been done to prevent this?” He paused only a moment, then said with haunting pain, “If only I had really known, really thought through what it would cost me, my family, ministry, and my Lord, I honestly believe I never would have done it.”

My next few blogs will follow up on my three previous posts and continue to allude sometimes to what happened with Ravi Zacharias. Why? So that as Christian leaders and laypeople, we can learn from it and avoid sexual immorality ourselves.

It is certainly true that there’s nothing we can do about Ravi’s life now. That is done. But there’s a lot we can and should do about our lives. And families. And churches. And ministries. That’s the whole point: not to wallow in what Ravi did, but to ask ourselves what we can do so that at the end our lives, God can say to us, flawed though we be, “Well done.”

In my previous blog, I quoted from the detailed investigative report from a law firm which was commissioned by Ravi Zacharias International Ministry. In this blog, I want to address the responses to my article, which I think are very enlightening in evaluating our different views of the moral failures of Christian leaders.

When a Christian leader—or anyone else—often comes across as proud and arrogant it may be simply because that’s what he really is.  Pride and arrogance weren’t the first things most of us saw in Ravi. What we saw was apparent humility and devotion to Jesus. When these qualities are the genuine fruit of God’s Spirit, they are beautiful, when they are not, they can become tools to manipulate others into gratifying our sinful desires.
