Randy joined Rush Witt on the Straight to the Heart Podcast, to share his personal reflections on life, grieving with hope in everyday moments, and the connection to his new booklet Grieving with Hope: Walking with Jesus in Heartbreak, coming out in August 2024 with New Growth Press.  

A reader asked me if it’s possible he’ll visit his childhood hometown one day on the New Earth. Might this earth’s places that we loved and enjoyed be resurrected to the New Earth? In becoming new, will the old Earth retain much of what it once was?

Psalm 107 begins, “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say this.” The psalmist details the sufferings of God’s people, wandering in desert wastelands, without homes, hungry, and thirsty.

Randy Alcorn talked with some staff at Desiring God about writing and editing. He shared from Isaiah 55:8-11, and explained the importance of being so saturated in God’s Word that your writing (and speaking) reflects God’s truth. Randy also answered some questions and shared insights from his own experience as a writer.
